Welcoming Danielle Weddepohl as the New Young Professional Liaison for ISRM Canada Chapter

The ISRM Canada Chapter is thrilled to announce the appointment of Danielle Weddepohl as our new Young Professioanal Liaison. This strategic addition to our team highlights our dedication to advancing security leadership that is community-centered, collaborative, and grounded in education.

Danielle Weddepohl is a seasoned multi-disciplinary security leader with extensive experience in governmental and educational settings. After earning a master’s degree in Military and Strategic Studies from the University of Calgary, Danielle served as a Senior Project Officer at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and worked as an Intelligence Analyst at the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC). Her academic background and professional experience have established Danielle as a leader adept at bridging theory with practical applications in the field.

In her role as a Professor at Sheridan College’s Faculty of Public Safety, Danielle taught across the Investigations and Police Foundations programs, where she mentored students and security professionals, helping them grow in their academic and career pursuits while encouraging a sense of service to the community. Most recently, as the Executive Director of Safety and Emergency Management, Danielle led a team of Public Safety professionals across Sheridan College’s three campuses, implementing security policies focused on risk management, community wellness, and effective threat mitigation.

Danielle is renowned for her skills in policy development, particularly regarding risk and security threats, and for promoting an inclusive, holistic approach to security by cultivating strong relationships with community stakeholders. Her commitment to advancing the field of Public Safety is reflected in her active involvement with the ASIS Toronto Chapter Women in Security Committee, her service on the Advisory Board of Canadian Security and her role in the upcoming 2025 Women in Security Documentary by Resilient Features.

 

Key Highlights:

  • Led a team in developing and implementing comprehensive security and emergency management plans for three campuses at Sheridan College, fostering a culture of care, concern and equitable response.
  • Developed innovative policy approaches for managing security-related threats and risks, with an emphasis on holistic stakeholder collaboration and community wellness.
  • Frequently shares insights on Public Safety and security through speaking engagements and will be featured in The Women in Security Documentary, showcasing her commitment to empowering women in the security industry.
