Veli-Pekka Lagerblom, CEO of Kiisec

Veli-Pekka Lagerblom is an experienced Finnish security professional having MSc degree in industrial management, BSc in information technology and a degree from Finnish Police Academy. He is also CISA certified IT auditor. Before his entrepreneurship, Veli-Pekka was leading the security function in Thales Group’s Nordic & Baltic organization that produced high security services and solutions mainly for the national authorities. Veli-Pekka has been responsible of security of the biometric passports’ production for Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. After 23 years in both the public and private sector, Veli-Pekka is now an information security entrepreneur who puts his experience in the service of organizations and companies.

The best part for him is always serving customers and gaining their trust. His role in corporate security as CSO and CISO is best summed as managing security management systems and hosting security audits in a heavily regulated business environment (ISO14298 Intergraf, ISO27001, PCI, Common Criteria and National Security Criterias). In his opinion, a good collaboration with various stakeholders is the key success factor for successful security management within any organization.

He is interested in current events and topics in the surrounding world and closely follows various news channels. In his spare time, he takes care of his well-being with basic exercise, such as the gym and cycling. Ice hockey is his special passion.
