Global Security Advisor, Action Aid International

 

Javeria is a seasoned Communications and Security Risk Management professional with around 15 years of experience advising non- profit organisations on media and communication strategies as well as security risk management policy, standards and practices. She is an experienced crisis manager, trainer, and analyst with a focus on humanitarian contexts, disasters and emergencies, and political risk management in the context of social justice activism.

Javeria is currently associated with ActionAid, an international human rights-based federation, as their Global Safety & Security Advisor and is based in South Africa.

She's a member of the Board of Directors of International NGO Safety and Security Association (INSSA), Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM), Member of ASIS International and The Security Institute, UK. Javeria is a speaker on intersectional safety and security issues and regularly contributes to global discussions and research studies.
