Cyber Threats During Disaster Events - Houston Chapter

We will discuss the unique impacts that different cyber threats have had during historic crisis events including the COVID-19 Pandemic as well as the 2020 Hurricane Season on the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. We will pull from real world cyber incidents where cyber threat actors shifted their approach to take advantage of the chaos that is created in during ongoing crises including incidents involving financial fraud, attempts at reducing disaster response effectiveness, and misinformation campaigns.
